A garrote is like a strangling device. It is not necessarily a specific device, but rather, a generic device can be used as a garrote. Garrotes are just strangling things, like the fiber wire on the Hitman games.
Nunchucks are garrotes. They choke the victim when they are wrapped around the neck region.
